Summary of Themes
The Urban Transport for Disabled People working group was a new working group for year three of the Urban Transport Benchmarking Initiative. During their first site visit to Hasselt, they decided that their research should centre on approaches towards providing transport for disabled people rather than specific engineering. The focus was on the balance between making mainstream public transport accessible and providing specialised services, while also looking at social advantages of different approaches.
